Kyiv-Mohyla Academy established Crimean Studies at the university

As Kyiv-Mohyla Academy is working on the establishment of Crimean Studies, the KMA Analytical Platform announces the launch of a new research project aimed at studying Crimean Tatar identity in the context of Ukrainian nation-building.  



This project will include conducting comprehensive research and organizing events on this topic in various regions of Ukraine. The research will focus on analyzing existing sources and literature, formulating hypotheses, conducting quantitative surveys (over 1500 surveys). The conclusions of the research will serve as proposals for the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.



This project is initiated by the KMA Analytical Platform with the support of Isar Ednannia and the Civil Society Sectoral Support Initiative in Ukraine. It will be a significant step in the deeper understanding of the importance of Crimean Tatars in Ukrainian history, and new level in the development of the research work at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Crimean Studies will operate under the coordination of Serhiy Kvit, President of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and with KMA Faculty such as Arsen Zhumadilov, Serhiy Petukhov, Martyn-Oleksandr Kyslyi, and other involved experts.
