KMA Law School Professors Visited Yale Law School to Establish Partnerships
In the framework of an initiative aimed at development of global cooperation in legal education, a delegation from the KMA Department of Law, including Dean Dr. Volodymyr Venger, Professor Oleksiy Tseliev, Dr. Maria Melnyk and Professor Taisa Markus, visited Yale Law School.
The delegation met and discussed opportunities for partnerships and knowledge exchange with prominent scholars in jurisprudence, including Scott Shapiro, Bill Eskridge, Jim Silk and others. The cooperation will include a joint platform focused on such subjects as legal English, digital law, international criminal law and business law, also providing guest lectures and workshops for Ukrainian students from the Faculty of Yale Law School.
One more significant point of the delegation’s visit was the attendance of a session on the topic of Russia's war against Ukraine, led by Gene Fidell, where KMA professors also shared their expertise and experiences with students from around the world.
Overall, this visit marks a significant step in fostering cooperation between the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and Yale Law School. Our community is grateful to Heather Gerken, Dean of the Yale Law School, for organizing the discussions on various aspects of potential cooperation, and USAID initiative “Justice for All” for supporting this visit.
